Seminar on “Innovations in Construction Materials” Saturday 7 March, 2015 at IEP Convention Center

The Seminar on “Innovations in Construction Materials” was held on Saturday 7 March, 2015, at IEP Convention Center.

The Seminar started from recitation of Holy Quran. Engr. Dr. Farrukh Arif conducted the event, Engr. Sohail Bashir, Chairman, International Affairs, IEP was the moderator. Engr.Ayaz Mirza, Secretary IEP Karachi Centre presented the vote of thanks.

Engr. Farhat Adil Chairman, IEP Karachi Centre, Engr. Ayaz Mirza, Secretary IEP Karachi Centre presented the Seminar shield and memento to the Authors and panelists.

The following papers were presented in the Seminar.

1. “An Inter-faculty Initiative of NED University Bringing Academia-industry Linkages”
Dr. Uneb Gazder, Secretary CMRG, Assistant Professor, Department of Urban & Infrastructure Engineering, NEDUET.


2. “Use of Fly Ash as a Construction Material”
Mr. Hasan Akhtar


3. “Use of Natural Fiber as Soil Stabilizing Agent”
Dr. Amanullah Marri, NED University of Engineering and Technology.



A panel discussion was also held after the seminar. The panelists were:

1- Engr. Dr. Sarosh H. Lodi, Dean Civil Engineering Department, NEDUET.
2- Engr. Dr. Mir Shabbar Ali, Chairman, Urban and Infrastructure Engineering Department, NEDUET.
3- Dr. Syed Imran Ali, Assistant Professor, Polymer & Petrochemcial Engg. NEDUET.
4-Engr. Arif Kassam, CEO, Arif Associates.

The panel discussion was very informative. The interaction between the panelists and the audience was good.

OTHER KEY INFORMATION:

1- More than 100 delegates were registered from various organizations/Universities.
2- The Seminar carried 0.5 CPD points.

The Seminar was a success and well attended.
